Anyone who has ever been a guest in someone's home has danced the dance of trying to connect to their Wi-Fi. If you're staying at your friend's place, they're probably able to instantly automatically authenticate you onto their network or relay to you the easily memorable, catchy, quirky phrase they use as a password. However, if you're staying with an older relative like your parents or grandparents, it's highly likely they're not even sure what their password is since they haven't connected a new device to it since their (original) iPad. So, you find yourself crawling, searching for their conveniently placed router, which lies in a musty room underneath a dusty desk. After fighting through a cloud of territorial dust bunnies, you struggle to decipher the ancient text inscribed on the back of the router, squinting to make out the random series of numbers and letters in the low light. After several failed attempts to do this, your host will soon find that the code, their birthday, was actually safely stored in a notebook on the coffee table the entire time.
Loud and inconsiderate neighbors wear you down—and with all the teeth-grinding you're going to be doing during the duration of your unfortunately close proximity to them, that notion can also be applied literally. Still, it's not every day that your neighbor's loudness, while still presenting a problem, can also offer a solution by inadvertently giving you access to their wifi.
